Exchange Programmes

BSO Exchange facility

An effective way of learning is simply through direct experience “on the ground”. The BSO Exchange Facility is a benchmarking tool, allowing business organisations from the EaP countries to learn from their European colleagues, through a short term traineeship.

The facility is driven by the EaP beneficiaries: they submit applications for sending a member of staff to an EU counterpart.

In total, 50 places are available. Applications can be submitted to EUROCHAMBRES in principle any time.

A selection committee reviews all incoming applications regularly and makes a selection based on:

  • the quality of the application, but also
  • geographical balance: encourage less obvious countries to participate, and
  • complementarity with the other East Invest tools (no overlap with the twinnings).

Applicants are notified about the results of this process. Where required, EUROCHAMBRES assists in identifying the appropriate partner organisation and provides instructions for preparing the visit. Once dates are agreed, the host organisation notifies EUROCHAMBRES about the contents of the programme and the actual duration and date. Where necessary, EUROCHAMBRES intervenes in the contents of the programme, to make sure it is focused on the needs of the beneficiary.

After the traineeship, each participant is required to produce a specific report, outlining how the acquired knowledge will be applied in his/her organisation. A follow up survey is to be organised 3 – 6 months after the visit, to enquire effective implementation.

Applications are to be submitted to EUROCHAMBRES by means of the dedicated application form. Prior to filling in the application form, potential candidates are invited to read the application guidelines which offer an insight into how to apply and how selections are made.
