Azeri SMEs to Latvia September 2016

A group of Azeri SMEs from Agrifood sector visited Riga, Latvia from 7 to 9 September 2016. The SMEs were representing subsectors of dairy products, spices, meat and farming. The visit objectives had three dimensions: to investigate new technologies, to learn about the EU technical standards and regulations and to establish new business contacts.

The programme incorporated B2B meetings with Latvian distributors and a visit to the 21st International Trade Fair for Food and Gastronomy Festival in Riga. The fair offered the opportunity to meet with the EU suppliers of food equipment, to learn new food recipes for industrial purposes and to create new business partnerships for future business developments.

Besides that, the representatives of Latvian Ministry of Agriculture, Latvian Food and Veterinary Office and Customs Administration held a workshop for the Azeri delegation, providing information on requirements for import of agricultural products to the European Union.

Roadshow partners were the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commercey on the Eastern Partnership side and the Latvian Chambers of Commerce and Industries on the European side.

The partners' websites offer additional information regarding the event: The German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and the Latvian Chambers of Commerce and Industries.
