Moldovan SMEs to Italy June 2015

A group of 11 Moldovan agrifood and textile producers travelled to Italy from 8 to 13 June 2015. They visited Milano, Parma and Bologna. On this occasion the Moldovan SMEs participated in the organised B2B session at the Moldovan Pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015.

One of the objectives of the visit was to encounter Italian businessmen interested in importing Moldovan products to Italy. The Italian companies showed their special interest in Moldovan nuts, dried fruits, plums, pears and quinces, as well as in their textile products. The Moldovan delegation visited the biggest commercial chain selling fruits and vegetables in Italy. As a result they became acquainted with the certification needed to export to the EU and the right period of delivery of goods to sell them at a higher price. The Moldovan SMEs presented their samples of products, commercial offers and agreed to continue the negotiation process in order to sign the contracts with the Italian companies.

One of the study visits was dedicated to learning about the certification requirements from the Experimental Centre for Canned Food Industry, whose founder is the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Parma. Additionally, they found out about the researches conducted at the Experimental Center, including launching of new products or recipes, sanitation and preservation of the factory territory. The Moldovan companies from textile sector visited some Italian clothes producers  where they learned about the latest technology used  and the new trends in this industry.

Roadshow partners were the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the Eastern Partnership side and Formaper - Milan Chamber of Commerce on the European side.
