18 Ukrainian SMEs representatives of construction sector with focus on green and energy efficiency technologies and companies belonging to alternative energy sector travelled to Copenhagen, Denmark from 31 October to 3 November 2017. One part of the visit was dedicated to presenting Ukraine as an investment destination to Danish businesses and to participating in individual B2B meetings between Danish and Ukrainian companies, while the second part was dedicated to study visits to various Danish companies from alternative energy and energy efficiency areas. The objective of the study visits was to transfer the knowledge in the energy efficiency domain and to show how to optimise existing heating and cooling technologies to Ukrainian SMEs. They learnt that, by using district cooling it is possible to achieve power savings of up to 80 percent compared to traditional cooling systems and reduce their CO2 emissions by up to 70 percent.

The B2B meetings produced some outcomes: a few Ukrainian companies discussed the possibility of buying Danish equipment in order to optimise the energy consumption.

Part of the Ukrainian participants realised that they are not ready to export yet due to the fact that they still need to learn and implement relevant EU technical standards. Besides that, they also need more profound studies about the EU markets in order to be able to enter it. One the other hand, they are ready to follow and implement energy efficiency solutions in Ukraine in order to bring the construction and energy efficiency standards to the level of the European ones.

The European East Alliance partner facilitating the visit was Danish Industry and the Eastern Partnership partner who brought the Ukrainian companies to Denmark was Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Danish Industry and Donetsk CCI with the purpose to encourage, promote and facilitate economic cooperation among their business communities and to extend their international collaboration network.

We are pleased to present to you the Catalogue of participating Ukrainian SMEs and kindly invite you to share their profiles further with your member companies if you believe this might generate interest among them.
